Full-screen non-camera Lens experiences possible in Easy Lens

Easy Lens can now build Lenses that fill the whole screen and do not use the camera. Here is what you can make, who can make it, and how to publish one.

  1. What can I build? Full-screen, non-camera Lens experiences in 2D or 3D. Games are the main focus right now, but you can also make interactive stories, tools, toys, and more.

  2. How do I make one? The capability is available to Lens+ subscribers in Easy Lens web (easylens.snapchat.com). Describe what you want in the Easy Lens chat. Easy Lens plans it, writes the code, and builds it. Every message after that refines the same Lens.

  3. How long does a build take? Builds run in the background and typically take 5 to 20 minutes per turn. You can keep working while you wait.

  4. Can I test it before publishing? Yes. Play it in the browser preview, or use Push to Snapchat to try it on your phone.

  5. How do I publish? Record a preview in the editor, add an icon and a name of up to 18 characters, and submit through the usual flow. Lens+ enrollment happens at submission.

  6. Do these Lenses earn payouts? Yes. They're eligible for Lens+ monetization and payouts, and you can choose to make them exclusive before publishing.

  7. Who can create with this? Lens+ subscribers, on Easy Lens web. Easy Lens mobile can play these Lenses but can't build them yet.

  8. Where can I consume such Lenses? You can consume these Lenses on Snapchat, and in Easy Lens mobile.

  9. What's not supported? Camera, face, hand, body, and world tracking (those stay native Lenses). Published Lenses can't be updated in place, and leaderboards and saved progress only work on supported devices.

You know what a full-screen Lens can be, who can build one, how long a build takes, and how to test and publish it.
