Payouts, explained: your Lens Creator Rewards FAQ

1. The basics

   What is Lens Creator Rewards? It is Snap's payout program for Lens Creators and Developers. If your Lens is doing numbers with the right audience, you can receive payouts for it. Full details live on the Lens Creator Rewards page.

2. Who is eligible? Right now the program is open to Creators who are at least 18 years old and based in an eligible country. Those countries are Algeria, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Denmark, Egypt, Finland, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Jordan, Korea (the Republic of), Kuwait, Libya, Mexico, Morocco, Netherlands (the), New Zealand, Nigeria, Norway, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines (the), Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and United States. The list moves, so check the Lens Creator Rewards page before you count yourself out.

3. How do I apply? Fill out the application form. Lens+ Payouts are currently available only to approved Creators, so the application is step one.

4. Payout scores

   How does a Lens qualify for a payout? Lenses are paid out individually. Each Lens needs a payout score over 100 on its own to get paid, and scores do not pool together across your portfolio. One breakout Lens can be awarded; five Lenses at 40 each will not.

5. How is the payout score determined? It is not a views game. Your payout score is built from interactions and engagements from Lens+ subscribers, and two things count. Lens+ Users is the unique Lens+ subscribers who sent, posted or played your Lens. Lens+ Signups is the people who subscribed to Lens+ right after trying it. Reach, plays and shares help people find your Lens and they do not move your earnings at all.

   

6. Where do I check my payout score? Head to My Lenses and look at your Lens-level metrics. Easy Lens carries the same number: open a published Lens from your profile and it sits with that Lens's other stats.

7. My payout score says 0. Should I panic? No. Payout metrics update monthly rather than live. A zero right after publishing, or mid-month, is the month not having refreshed yet.

8. How do I get a higher payout score? Study what is already working. The Lens+ Top Charts show the top-performing Lenses and Creators, so use them for inspiration on mechanics, replay value and the kinds of interactions that keep Lens+ subscribers engaged. Then build your own spin on it.

9. Know the trade before you opt a Lens in. A Lens you opt into Lens+ Payouts stays open to everyone for the first 48 hours after you submit it, ungated and not Exclusive. After 48 hours it becomes Exclusive to Lens+ and Platinum subscribers, and it begins earning. Get paid for the Lenses you publish is the switch itself and where it sits.

10. Getting paid

    How will I know I have been awarded a payout? You get a notification in the Rewards Hub telling you a reward is pending, plus the amount that has been awarded to you.

11. When does the money actually land? Rewards typically take 14 days to become available in your balance.

12. How does the payment get to me? Payouts are processed through HyperWallet. First time through, you set up your cash-out profile so your balance has somewhere to go.
