Make a Lens that turns your face into a character

Face Generator builds a Lens that turns a face into a character, an animal or a stylized look. You name the look in a few words, and the banner on the home feed says the previews now come back in about a minute.

  1. Sign in at easylens.snapchat.com. The quickest way in is the banner at the top of the home feed headed Face Generator previews — now in about a minute, one of the banners the arrows step through, and its Try Now opens the tool. It is also the card on the Gen AI suite at /assets that reads Transform faces into playful characters, animals, and stylized identities with Face Generator effects.

  2. Plan for two stages, because two screens give the times. The previews come first, and the banner puts them at now in about a minute. The training comes second, when you train it as a full real-time Lens in the banner's words, and the tool's own header reads Average Processing Time: 3+ hours.

  3. Name the look in Transformation, the box under Generate Face Transformations. It is the one required field, it opens empty with squirrel as its hint, and Create My Lens stays greyed out until there is something in it. A few words are enough, the way the examples read: "fierce game-day face in glossy green-and-white paint with thick black eye-black bars under the eyes".

The Face Generator controls, headed Generate Face Transformations, with a Transformation box marked Required holding the game-day face paint example and a collapsed Image reference (optional) section below it

  4. Borrow a look if the blank box is the hard part. Five examples sit under the preview, from Notebook Doodle to Blitz Face, and tapping one loads its words into the box. The dice in the corner of the box, Shuffle Transformation, deals one of them at random, and the line under the preview reads Hover to see before and after.

  5. Read the line along the bottom before you build. It prints the sentence that actually gets sent, Generate a long generation Face-Enhanced ML Effect where my face is transformed into… with your look on the end. If the sentence does not describe the face in your head, fix the Transformation rather than the Lens.

  6. Tap Create My Lens when the line reads the way you meant it. From there it works like any other Lens, and make a beauty Lens in minutes walks through changing it one message at a time and publishing it.

You have a Face Generator Lens started from a look you named, and you know the two stages to plan around: previews in about a minute by the banner's count, then training, at 3+ hours on the tool's header.
