Read the charts before you build your next Lens

Seven boards on the home page say what is winning in the Lens+ creator program and where the gaps are. You do not need an account to read them, and the last one is a list of what to make.

  1. Open easylens.snapchat.com. Lens+ Top Charts is the first tab in the row above the feed and it is the one you land on, so there is nothing to click and nothing to sign in for. Seven boards sit under the heading, and the pill you are on decides what the grid below shows.

  2. Start on Monthly Top 50. The line under the pills names the month it covers, so you are reading a settled month rather than a week in progress, and each card carries the rank, the Lens name, the creator and the category it was filed under.

  3. Switch to All Time Top 50 when a month looks like a fluke. It ranks the same way across the whole span the charts hold, and the heading spells that span out, so a Lens sitting on both boards is a shape that keeps working rather than one that caught a good week.

  4. Read New Lenses for what is landing right now. It is the Lenses published in the month rather than the ones earning in it, which is the difference between what is popular and what is new.

  5. Move to the creator boards when you want to copy a way of working rather than a Lens. Top Creators ranks by hit rate, the percentage of submitted lenses that were rewarded, which is a share and not a total, so a creator who publishes carefully outranks one who publishes constantly. New Creators is whoever had their first Lens rewarded this month, and Most Improved is the biggest month-over-month gain in that same share.

  6. Finish on Category Opportunities, which is the board that answers what should I make. Sixteen categories, most in demand first, and each tile says two things: how full that category already is, and how much demand it sees for its size. The panel above the tiles defines the three demand levels, and its tip names the combination worth chasing.

  7. Pick a tile that is Under-represented and High demand, because that is the pair with more audience than Lenses, and the board marks it for you. Then describe the idea in the chat the way you would any other Lens: "Make a quiz that tells me which of my friends I am most like."

  8. Mark it for payouts if you want it to earn. Learn more about Lens+ Payouts sits at the top right of every board, and get paid for the Lenses you publish is the switch itself and what you trade for it.

You can tell which Lenses and which creators are winning, and you have a shortlist of categories with more demand than supply to aim your next Lens at.
